Miley Cyrus performed a provocative
rendition of her “We Can’t Stop” single last night on Saturday Night
Live — except this version featured actors playing Republican Speaker of
the House John Boehner and conservative Congresswoman Michele Bachmann
doing some startling things.
The skit, entitled “We did Stop,” poked
fun at the government shutdown, showing a sexualized Boehner and
Bachmann, played by Taran Killam and Cyrus, celebrating their success at
shutting down the government with a house party.
“It’s our party we can do what we want,
it’s our party we can say what we want, we can stop what we want, we
can vote how we want, defund what we want,” Cyrus’ hit-song’s lyrics
were changed to say.
The skit was just as raunchy as Cyrus’
original “We Can’t Stop” video, except this time the video depicted the
House GOP as the ones losing their grip on reality.
“Bills in the house like we don’t
care, ’cause we came to shut it all down now, no government around now,”
the lyrics went. “If you are not ready for healthcare, can I get a hell
no? ‘Cause we’re gonna keep it out shut down, D.C. is a closed town all
around.”
