Today, Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder and several fellow patriots protested at Big Springs Ozark National Scenic Riverway. This area was formerly a state park. It was deeded to the feds 44 years ago, in 1969. It is administered by the US National Park Service, Department of Interior.
The Obama Administration put up barricades all week last week to keep the public out.
Today’s rally was organized to remove the barricades.
The protest was organized by Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, State Rep. Steve Cookson, and Senator Doug Libla (all Republicans), and Carter County presiding commissioner John Bailiff. The organizers thought there would be a small gathering there with just a few fellow patriots, but 70-80 veterans and concerned citizens turned out for the rally with no formal notice.
Several local business owners, whose businesses are being hurt by the shutdown, also came out.
Peter Kinder told the crowd, “Our message to the ruling class in Washington is ‘We’re not going to take this!’ We the people created the federal government. My message to President Obama and his administration is ‘We are not surfs to a federal master.’ This president wants Americans to suffer. We are not going to stand for it in Missouri.” Cookson, Libla and Bailiff also addressed the crowd.
And, 92 year-old veteran Ray Sanders spoke, telling the crowd, “We need more of this.”
